Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine has established a network of contacts with the preparation of the eighth and ninth Ukraine State Report on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the national report on implementation of the decision of the 4th World Conference on Women and 23 UN General Assembly "Beijing + 20".

Last Wednesday, November 20, 2013 within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), the League of Professional Women (LPW) in partnership with KPMG Ukraine and Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine organized the annual meeting and brought together women-entrepreneurs from all over Ukraine to discuss "Inspiring Women: Equal Opportunities in Entrepreneurship and Public Sphere in Ukraine".

On October 16, 2013 special discussions on gender equality took place at the Verkhovna Rada (the Parliament of Ukraine). The topic was how to find a recovery on female’s equal rights and possibilities. Members of the Ukrainian parliament and governors, as well as the representatives of the NGOs and independent experts, took part at the discussions.

The WEPs are now accepting new nominations for the 2014 Leadership Awards that highlight concrete actions taken to implement WEPs and advance and empower women.

Representatives of the LPW B2B Committee had the opportunity to learn how to develop business effectively, under what conditions raise additional funds and got qualitative advice from representatives of the various programs supported by the EBRD in Ukraine, during the meeting "Women in Business" on April 19, 2013 in Kyiv, that was supported by the EBRD BAS Programme and the Government of Norway.

Perspectives of cooperation between Ukraine and Holland were outlined during a meeting with Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Mr Pieter Jan Wolthers, that took place on Wednesday, April 17, in Kyiv.

In Kyiv on Friday, April 12, 2013 took place international Forum on: "Women entrepreneurs: new driving force Ukrainian economy?" organized by UWF with the support of the Democracy Fund of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. Information about the Forum was distributed by LPW e-list serve (LPW BusInfo-L) for our networks members from different cities of Ukraine. The Forum was attended by representatives of the LPW Initiative Group on Support Women's Entrepreneurship in Ukraine (IG SWE by LPW): Anna Danilyuk, Olena Lazorenko and Olga Chernina.
