22 December 2011 – The President of the League of Professional Women reports on achievements of LPW in 2011, and challenges and prospects for 2012, the year of the 15 anniversary of the organization.

Olena Lazorenko, the President of the NGO “League of Professional Women” (LPW) presented report of the organizationfor 2011 (full version in Ukrainian download  from http://lpw.org.ua/ua/reports/) and outlined priorities for the next year at an 14th informal annual meeting that was held in Kiev on 22 December 2011.

Olena Lazorenko named 2011 a successful year with many achievementsin LPW’s core areas of activity: SME Development Support, Adult Education, Promotion Social Responsibility and International Cooperation in Gender Area.

Members of LPW participated in various national and international projects and events, promoting core values of organization such as Social Responsibility, Lifelong Learning and Gender Equality.

A number of fruitful partnerships in area of the SME Development Supportwas established, in particular withEUROCHAMBRES (Brussels, Belgium), Siauliai Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (Siauliai, Lithuania), Formaper – Milan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, handicraft and Agriculture (Milan, Italy), Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (Kyiv, Ukraine), Kyiv Chamber of Commerce (Kyiv, Ukraine) and Union of Entrepreneurs of Ukraine(Kyiv, Ukraine).

Also, a set of strategic priorities for 2012-2015 was outlined:

  • Development of innovative services and proposals on lifelong learning , gender equality, social responsibility, with focus on professional women in Ukraine and Eastern partnership countries, Europe, USA and Canada
  • Innovative, demand-driven training and consultancy services, targeted at SMEs, with a focus on women entrepreneurs;
  • Development of unique adult learning programs for different target groups;
  • Creation of partnership adult learning programs;
  • Diversification of income source;
  • Improvement of fundraising activities aimed at reduction of LPW financial dependence;

Organizational development (membership, new services, regional groups of female professionals in Ukraine, etc.)
