On April 6, 14:30-16:30 at the Kyiv`s office of the UN House in Ukraine took part the seminar on labour safety issues. The seminar organized upon the initiative of the Global Compact working group on labour (NGO "League of Professional Women" (LPW) is member of the Global Compact since 2008). In this event took part Olena Lazorenko, LPW President .
During the seminar the representatives of the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, the State Committee on Industrial Safety, State Fund of Social Insurance, and International Labour Organization was provided the participants with workplace safety & health information and answer your questions.
Providing decent and safe labour conditions as well as caring for employees’ health make part of doing “civilized” business today. According to the State Fund of Social Insurance only during the last week 309 work-related accidents occurred at the Ukrainian enterprises. These accidents are not only personal tragedy of the victims but also a considerable cost for business and society in general.
