The Kyiv Alumni Resource Center (ARC) administered by the American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is pleased to announce call for proposals for the upcoming second annual conference "Women in Business" planned to be held on February 28, 2009 (Saturday) at the ARC Conference Room (vul. Melnykova 63).
The main aim of the conference is to increase leadership by women in different areas, raise awareness of women's potential as global leaders and bring together experts in different fields to share their experience. The conference is open to alumni, representatives of ARC partner organizations, educational institutions, public and private organizations, scholars and graduate students.
We are continuing to invite women who achieved prominence in their fields and the main idea of 2009 conference is to bring together the variety of topics of interest to women leaders representing diverse professions. This year the conference will focus on the following topics:

Business plan for life (education and career, educational opportunities abroad and in Ukraine, work and life balance etc.);

Negotiating in business and in a daily life;

Career planning – how to create the senior female leader from the entry level professional;

How to become a leader; impact of women leaders in different areas (PA, judiciary, private sector, education, mass media and civil society including professional associations;

Developing opportunities for a multicultural workplace;

Women in small businesses; in multicultural companies; in big corporations;
-
Roles and impact of women in decision-making positions in different areas such as public administration (including the judiciary), the private sector, academia, media and civil society, including trade unions and professional associations.
Working languages of the conference are Ukrainian, Russian and English.
